Programme: Software Surgery
Course: Software Surgery
Description:

The Software Surgery is a drop-in service where both staff and students can get help on specific software and web applications. The surgeries take place on Thursday, 13:00-14:00 in the Library Training Room (LRB.R08) on the Lower Ground Floor of the Library.

We currently cover:

  • Statistical Software: SPSS, Stata
  • Qualitative Analysis: NVivo
  • Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
  • Library Technologies: Endnote*, e-journals and online data sources

*Please note that basic Endnote training is not provided at these sessions.

A member of our training team will be on hand to help you learn what you need to solve your particular problem. In order to accommodate as many people as possible there is a time limit of 15 minutes for each query.

Please make sure you have a copy of your work on your H: Space and/or memory stick when you attend a session. We cover the topics listed above, but we do not know everything! If we cannot help you solve your problem in the time available on the day, we will get back to you at a later date. If you need more information, please contact us at training.and.development@lse.ac.uk.
