| Course: | Safety in Fieldwork Planning and Safety Management Awareness Training |
| Description: | This one day course raises awareness of the planning and safety management actions, identified within the UCEA/USHA national higher education sector guidance, needed to minimise the risk of harm to fieldwork participants whether overseas of in the UK. Staff attending will have a greater understanding of a risk based approach to fieldwork safety and how to meet their individual responsibilities and those of the institution. Using case studies and practical exercises the session guides delegates through the sector guidance requirements and LSE Fieldwork Safety Policy. Particular emphasis is given to examining the fieldwork risk assessment process, authorisation process, contingency plan, insurance provision and ensuring training and competency of participants. Essential for: All staff involved in the planning, organisation and leading of UK and overseas fieldwork. |
