Description:

Investigating accidents and incidents (near misses/hits) is a key part of safety management. They help those who manage premises and activities to identify any problems with their arrangements and make them safe. 

This one day course gives managers, health and safety coordinators and others the skills and confidence to investigate the root causes of accidents or incidents affecting their staff or the areas they manage, and to recommend actions to prevent a recurrence.

The course will include: the principles of accident investigation, the benefits of accident prevention, basic concepts of human, environmental, occupational and organisational factors, accident investigation and questioning techniques. It will include practical exercises and case study.
