Course: Define, refine, and practise your dissertation literature search
Description:
Reviewing the literature for your dissertation?  Navigating your way through volumes of texts?  Or perhaps you’re wondering where to start?  Come to this workshop to get advice and hands-on practice on defining and combining your search terms, selecting relevant databases and catalogues, and creating alerts and keeping records of your searches. Maria Bell, Heather Dawson and Ellen Wilkinson of LSE Library will guide you on how to develop your own approach to searching for material that is suited to your research question/topic.  Then you’ll have ample time to try it for yourself and ask questions.
To make the most of the workshop, bring your own laptop or tablet, or borrow an iRoam MacBookAir.  Also, bring any draft research question or key words about your topic that you’ve already identified.
