Could a different form of assessment serve your course, and your students, better?

This workshop introduces a range of assessment approaches from across the School and the sector. It will enable participants to identify which format(s) are suitable for the specific courses they are creating or revising. It will also provide a framework to think through the implications of using particular assessment methods, to increase inclusivity and minimise complications.

Who should attend?

The workshop is open to all those teaching in the School but particularly useful for anyone considering changing their assessment methods in the coming academic year.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this session, you should be able to:

  • Evaluate the appropriateness of several forms of assessment for your course(s)
  • Anticipate the effects of introducing a change in assessment, for students and the department
  • Identify ways to maximise the benefit of a change in assessment
