Programme: Web Design
Course: Web Design 4b: CSS Layout
Description:

This workshop expands on Web Design 3: CSS Format, introducing CSS for positioning elements on the page. This skill is key to creating flexible, responsive, and stylish websites.

Prior to attending the workshop, students must have completed the tasks in Web Design 1: HTML Pages, Web Design 2: HTML Sites and Web Design 3: CSS Format, as well as the the short Web Design 4a Moodle Lesson.

All students will work at their own pace and some may find they wish to attend the course a number of times in order to fully complete the learning.

By the end of this session you will understand how to:

  • Use CSS to precisely or relatively position elements on a page, such as a fixed navigation bar
  • Create multi-column layouts
  • Create different effects, such as colour changes, in response to the cursor

Computers will be provided, however space is limited. Please ensure you arrive on time as five minutes after the course starts any unclaimed places will be given to people on the waiting list.

This session takes place in the Amber Miro Training Suite located on the 3rd floor of Aldwych House. You should allow 10 minutes travel time if you are walking from the NAB or Library, and 5 minutes from Old Building or SAW.
