In this half day session, Viki Chinn and Livi Shaw will help attendees understand how visible and non-visible disabilities can impact on students and colleagues across the School.

Throughout the session, we will consider some of the issues facing disabled people, and share good practice and resources.

The session aims to help attendees gain confidence and knowledge around supporting and working with Disabled people, and will cover

  • What is a “non-visible” disability?
  • Positive self-marketing: Role models, and examples of strengths and attributes of those with a non-visible disability.
  • Signs and symptoms of some of the more common non-visible disabilities.
  • Working within our individual areas
  • Case studies
  • Disclosure and Disability at LSE
