Any manager, supervisor or staff member with an interest in developing self and others

 

Overview

The course will introduce the basic principles and skills of coaching in the workplace, including agreeing expectations, questioning, listening and the GROW model, a popular and simple model for holding an effective coaching conversation.

 

Learning objectives

This course will give you the knowledge and skills of basic good practice in coaching and developing others. You will know how to ask great questions and explore multisensory listening actively to encourage others to find their own solutions and achieve their own objectives. You will be introduced to and practice the popular GROW model. The transformational nature of coaching often means you will resolve your own solutions and goals in the process. You will also have opportunity to share experiences and learning with others from across all departments and schools of the University.
