Who is this course for?

 

This course is suitable for all staff who would like to understand how to conduct effective interviews or brush up on their interview technique.

 

Overview

 

A workshop focused on the practical elements of interviewing. Building on the advice given on the LSE website, this workshop will enable you to use the relevant tools confidently and appropriately to ensure the best interview technique and experience for all. Make your interviews count and avoid common pitfalls by conducting robust interviews that give you enough evidence on which to make good decisions.

 

By the end of this course you will

 

  • Be clear on what good looks like and how to draw this out at interview
  • Learn how to create a fair and objective scoring system for the role you are recruiting for
  • Understand types of questions e.g. behavioural, technical, motivational & other
  • Know how to write your own questions to ensure you get enough evidence
  • Review what to avoid and legal requirements of interviewing
  • Consider the candidate’s perspective
  • Have practiced your interview technique
