Course: Budget reporting in OneFinance

Who is this course for?

 

This course is designed for Professional Service managers who are required to monitor and report on budgets, in particular Department Managers, Centre Managers and staff in Central Service Divisions responsible for financial management

 

Overview

 

In August 2019, LSE moved all its financial transacting to OneFinance. The aim of this course is to enable budget managers to review budgets, commitments, actual expenditure and balances

 

By the end of this course you will be able to:

 

  • Look up budget codes
  • Understand the journal and budget virement process
  • Understand the use of projects and how to request a new one
  • Use the new OneFinance Cost Centre dashboard 
  • Compare actual expenditure against available budget and forecasts
  • View details of all transactions posted to budget codes
  • View documents such as invoices
  • Save and export financial data

 

At the time of writing, we are working on further report functionality, which will be released in the form of a project ledger dashboard. The course leader will provide more details about what is planned, how it will support budget holders and the expected timeline for release
