Who is this course for?

All managers who are responsible for recruitment



This interactive and highly practical course will support managers to effectively design questions based upon the Person Specification and skilfully interview candidates in order to be able to confidently select the best candidate for the post.


By the end of this course you will:


  • Have designed questions based on the Person Specification
  • Know the characteristics of a good interview
  • Have practiced a panel interview and develop increased understanding of the skills required
  • Select the best candidate based upon the answers



Important note:


This programme links to Recruitment and  Selection Part 1 which managers should attend if they are not already familiar with the areas covered which are:


  • The requirements under Equality Act 2010
  • Definition of unconscious bias and its implications for a fair recruitment process
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply the anonymisation of application forms
  • Meeting the school’s obligations to safeguard immigration as a whole and prevent illegal working
  • Drafting a person specification using the Effective Behaviours Framework
