Programme: Atlas 2021-22
Course: Group work and intercultural collaboration

As more courses at the LSE introduce group work in line with the requirements of LSE Offer, we review how group projects are designed and conducted. In response to student-led demands for greater emphasis on equality and diversity within groups and the school’s commitment to inclusive education, this workshop explores how to design and assess group work and support student groups in a way that recognises and values student heterogeneity and diversity. This approach also has the benefit of enabling students to develop intercultural literacy in keeping with LSE’s aim of providing a global education for the 21stcentury.

The session will revolve around exploring real-life scenarios of group work with a brief introduction to key principles and theories in this area. Participants will work in groups to propose solutions in keeping with sectoral good practice and LSE policies and procedures.

Intended audience: Lecturers and class teachers who use and support group work on their courses
